MAMA TRIED CELEBRATES FIVE YEAR ANNIVERSARY WITH NEW COCKTAIL MENU

by Helena Jose

Mama Tried, a popular establishment in downtown Miami, is delighted to announce that they recently celebrated their fifth anniversary during the summer season. This unique dive bar, which prides itself on its elevated status, has been providing both locals and tourists with a comfortable setting for enjoying happy hour, a vibrant late-night atmosphere, and everything in between for the past five years. Tyler Kitzman, the managing partner and bar manager at Mama Tried, has introduced an exclusive new selection of beverages to uphold the bar’s longstanding dedication to handcrafted cocktails. Kitzman explains, “Mama Tried has always been renowned for its lively and energetic ambiance, but we wanted to emphasize that we are first and foremost a neighborhood bar. Our new cocktail menu serves as a reminder of this.”

When Tyler set out to create the new menu, his main objective was to establish the finest cocktail selection in Miami. The menu will showcase a variety of flavors and fresh ingredients, each specifically tailored to cater to different tastes and preferences. Tyler explains, “I wanted to curate a menu where every single cocktail is outstanding. With my extensive experience in this industry, I have a clear understanding of what our guests desire.” Taking inspiration from various sources, including music, the vibrant city of Miami, and local markets, each drink on the menu is a direct reflection of these influences. One particular cocktail that stands out and fills Tyler with pride is the “Side Salad” – a unique cucumber martini with a savory and refreshing twist, garnished with a cherry tomato and a mozzarella ball infused with garlic. Another cocktail that is sure to be a favorite among ladies is the “Uno Noche Mas,” which draws inspiration from Bad Bunny and delivers a delightful peachy flavor. This eye-catching purple cocktail is made with butterfly tea-infused tequila and garnished with a playful miniature toy bunny.

“Our cocktails truly stand out because each one is a display of showmanship,” explains Tyler. For instance, take the “S’More Old Fashioned” – it’s crafted with bourbon infused with graham cracker flavors and topped off with a toasted marshmallow, which is torched right before the guest’s eyes and served in a glass filled with smoke. Mama Tried takes immense pride in their espresso martinis, made to order, unlike most others. Instead of using cold brew, they use freshly brewed espresso straight from the espresso machine. And now, Mama Tried is introducing seasonal frozen cocktails with their new frozen drink machine. These cocktails will change as the seasons do, and they come in a 12oz Mama Tried souvenir cup that guests can take home. Plus, for just $5, guests can add any floater of their choice.”

Mama Tried has become a popular spot in downtown Miami, thanks to its affordable prices and amazing cocktails. Happy Hour is a big hit at Mama Tried, with offerings like $4 beers, $6-7 wine, $5 whiskey shots, and a selection of 14 specialty cocktails for $7 each. Co-owner Dan Binkiewicz expresses pride in reaching the five-year mark and looks forward to continuing to bring great vibes to Miami’s nightlife scene. The music program at Mama Tried remains diverse, with a mix of old-school classics and current hits. They were the first to introduce an emo night in Miami, and now they’re introducing an all-new K-pop night.
