Negroni Week Is Here: Dom’s Kicks Off the Celebration with a Taste of Florence

From a Florentine bar takeover to frozen riffs and a hands-on cocktail class, Dom’s is giving Miami plenty of reasons to celebrate the iconic Negroni from September 21–27.

Negroni Week is back, and Miami is ready to embrace the bittersweet Italian classic.

This year, Dom’s in Brickell is stretching the celebration across an entire week with a lineup that moves from the cocktail’s Florentine roots to decidedly Miami interpretations — beginning with a one-night-only takeover by Jacopo Rosito, Beverage Director and Mixologist at Séptimo inside Four Seasons Hotel Miami.

From Florence to Miami

On Monday, September 21, from 6 to 10 p.m., Rosito will step behind the bar at Dom’s for “Off The Clock,” a special Negroni Week kickoff inspired by the city where it all began.

The connection could hardly be more fitting. Rosito is a Florence native, and the Negroni is famously said to have originated there more than a century ago, when Count Camillo Negroni asked for his Americano to be strengthened with gin.

At Dom’s, Rosito will revisit that history through three contemporary interpretations that reflect the approach he brings to Séptimo: classic technique layered with modern creativity.

The evening’s cocktails include the Mediterranean Negroni ($20), made with Ford’s Gin, Luxardo Bitter Bianco, Cocchi Americano and tzatziki, accompanied by a spoonful of Imperial Osetra caviar; the After Seven ($16), combining cocoa butter-infused Ford’s Gin, Campari, Séptimo Vermouth Blend, coffee and orange oil; and the Seventh Count ($16), a tropical interpretation made with Diplomático Reserva Exclusiva, Campari, toasted coconut vermouth and banana.

Italian melodies performed live throughout the evening will bring another taste of Florence to Brickell.

Negroni Meets Caviar

Cocktails won’t be the only reason to stop by.

For the takeover, Dom’s will offer a limited number of Nuggets Royale ($35), inspired by one of Séptimo’s signature dishes. The wood-oven-baked, seed-oil-free chicken tenders arrive in a special Dom’s x Séptimo box alongside 10 grams of Osetra caviar, chives, crème fraîche and truffle aioli.

Guests can build each bite themselves, turning an otherwise familiar comfort food into a decidedly indulgent companion to the evening’s Negronis.

Four Negronis, One Week

The celebration continues long after the takeover.

From September 21 through 27, Dom’s will feature a special menu showcasing four different expressions of the cocktail and just how far the classic combination of bitter, sweet, and spirit can travel.

There’s a Frozen Negroni, giving the classic a Miami-ready frozen treatment; the sparkling Negroni Sbagliato with Prosecco Brut, Campari and Vermouth Rosso; a Mezcal Bianco Negroni combining Luxardo Bitter Liqueur, Ilegal Mezcal, Lillet Blanc, orange bitters and saline; and the tropical Negroni en La Habana, made with strawberry-and-coconut-infused Campari, Havana Club Añejo Clásico, Vermouth Bianco and saline solution.

Together, the menu keeps the Negroni’s signature bittersweet personality intact while showing why a cocktail created more than a century ago continues to inspire bartenders today.

Learn to Make Your Own

And for those who would rather get behind the bar than simply sit in front of it, Dom’s is adding an interactive element to the week.

On Wednesday, September 23 at 7 p.m., Miami storyteller and cocktail personality Gio Gutierrez of @ChatChowTV will host “Shake, Stir & Slice: The Negroni Edition,” a hands-on cocktail class exploring the fundamentals behind one of the world’s most recognizable drinks.

Guests will prepare two versions: the classic Negroni and Dom’s Cuban-inspired Negroni en La Habana.

The experience also includes a welcome cocktail, two specialty pies from neighboring DC Pie Co., and a take-home gift — because apparently Negroni Week doesn’t have to end with the last pour.

A Bittersweet Week in Miami

Few cocktails have managed to remain as recognizable — or as relevant — as the Negroni. Its simple structure has become a canvas for generations of bartenders, from faithful renditions to interpretations involving mezcal, rum, coffee, coconut and even frozen formats.

Dom’s lineup captures both sides of that story.

It begins in Florence, with a bartender returning to the roots of his hometown cocktail, and ends exactly where Negroni Week should: with Miami putting its own spin on a classic.
