Downtown Miami’s beloved dive bar with a twist, Mama Tried, is raising the bar once again—this time, quite literally. As it celebrates its seven-year anniversary, the team behind this neighborhood staple has rolled out its most ambitious cocktail menu to date. Equal parts playful, polished, and packed with Miami attitude, the new lineup is already shaking up the city’s happy hour scene.

Located on NE 1st Street and often described as an “elevated dive bar,” Mama Tried has carved a unique space in Miami’s nightlife ecosystem. The new menu, launching July 2025, is a bold step forward for the venue—blending trend-forward flavors with an approachable price point, while embracing the venue’s diverse and loyal following.

“We wanted to craft a menu that feels fresh and inviting, with choices that are as beautiful as they are delicious,” shares Tyler Kitzman, managing partner and bar manager. “It was important for us to keep things fun, colorful, and accessible—without compromising on quality.”

A Cocktail Lineup Built for Everyone (Yes, Even Non-Drinkers)

This is the largest revamp in Mama Tried’s history, and the team didn’t hold back. From fruity tequila mixes to rich reimaginings of espresso martinis, the new menu covers a wide spectrum of flavor profiles—plus, for the first time, a curated non-alcoholic section.

Highlights include:

  • Red Flag – A sparkling blend of Cazadores Silver, strawberry Aperol, lime, and agave, topped with bubbles and garnished with an actual red flag. “Start here,” Kitzman suggests.

  • Honey Deuce – Inspired by the US Open, it’s a melon-infused Grey Goose cocktail with citrus and a touch of Malbec reduction, finished with honeydew melon balls.

  • Pero Liiiike – A Miami shoutout in name and flavor, this cocktail mixes dragon berry tequila, guava, apricot liqueur, lime, and ginger beer. For an extra $1, you can take home a Polaroid moment.

  • Something Spicier – A smoky, bold blend of Ilegal Mezcal, guajillo chili, lime, fresh watermelon, and spicy agave.

  • Porn Star Martini – Mama Tried’s top seller gets a glow-up with vodka, passionfruit, and vanilla, served with a bubble shot and dehydrated pineapple.

  • Tiramisu Espresso Martini – A dessert in a glass featuring Patron Reposado, hazelnut, fresh espresso, and a fluffy Baileys-cream cheese topping.

More Than Just Cocktails — It’s a Vibe

Beyond the drinks, Mama Tried continues to deliver the retro-inspired, eclectic energy it’s known for. The 2,250 sq ft bar blends neon nostalgia with gritty charm, creating a space that’s perfect for a midweek drink or a post-2 am wind-down. Its open-format music program spans everything from emo nights to disco sets to K-pop deep dives, solidifying its status as a local favorite with something for everyone.

Happy Hour runs daily from opening until 8 PM, with the bar staying open until 5 AM every night. Whether you’re in the mood for an affordable drink, a spontaneous dance party, or a signature cocktail served with a wink—Mama Tried continues to be one of downtown’s most reliable go-tos.

Mama Tried is located at 207 NE 1st Street, Miami, FL. For more info, visit mamatriedmia.com.
