Inspired by the original Casa Dragones Tasting Room in San Miguel de Allende, Mexico, this newTasting Room includes elements central to Casa Dragones’ mission–creating a transportive experience that includes elements from its terroir in a design-forward, ecologically sound design, celebrating tradition and innovation.Throughout its history, Casa Dragones has focused on modernizing the age-old craft of tequila-making, while celebrating the zeitgeist of modern Mexican design. The main element of theTasting Room entails an elevated platform with a large round bar made in pink terrazzo studded with marble and blue glass. The highly sustainable terrazzo material is typical to Mexican design, and also a testament to Casa Dragones’ commitment to sustainability.Hanging low over the terrazzo bar is a second element: a chandelier made from recycled Casa Dragones bottles. Both bar and chandelier complement each other and invite guests to be a part of the“sobremesa”ritual, anengaging, celebratory experience designed for conversation. Mirrored mosaic walls provide flattering reflective light, with a familiar soft pink “adobe” hue found all over Mexico. The design of the mirrors is inspired by Art Deco, and the feeling of being in a “cantina,” a traditional Mexican bar.
