Casa Vigil Honored in Wine Spectator’s 2024 Restaurant Awards

Casa Vigil, owned by winemaker Alejandro Vigil, has been honored in Wine Spectator’s 2024 Restaurant Awards with the Award of Excellence. This Miami-based restaurant is celebrated for its well-chosen wine list that matches its menu in both price and style.

Since opening in early 2024, Casa Vigil has become a top spot for wine lovers. La Cava, its main dining room, features over 700 wine labels. Under sommelier Miguel Martinez, guests enjoy tastings of rare wines like Chateau Petrus 2004.

“We are incredibly honored,” said Martinez. “This award reflects our dedication to offering a diverse wine selection that complements our Argentine-inspired cuisine.”

“The restaurant industry is expanding and flourishing, with new restaurant openings now exceeding pre-pandemic numbers for the first time. To capitalize on this growth, restaurateurs are investing more in their wine programs,” said Marvin R. Shanken, Editor and Publisher, Wine Spectator. “Restaurants that prioritize wine are the focus of the Wine Spectator Restaurant Awards program. I’m delighted to congratulate all 3,777 restaurants for their commitment to wine and outstanding wine lists.”

Started in 1981, the Restaurant Awards are the only global program dedicated solely to restaurant wine service. Awards are given at three levels: the Award of Excellence, the Best of Award of Excellence, and the Grand Award, with 2,150; 1,531; and 96 winners this year in each category.

Wine Spectator’s special Restaurant Awards issue will be available to readers on July 9.
